Suffolk County has announced that it is swearing in its largest class of police officers in almost 10 years.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone made the announcement that 100 new recruits will begin their training in September. The class is the largest since 2006.
The move is aimed at keeping crime down and reducing overtime costs.
The last graduating class was made up of 65 officers.
