Suffolk activates emergency operations center for December nor'easter

The county says it has shifted into higher gear to get crews and trucks out to treat roads they’re responsible for.

In Suffolk County, crews had their emergency operations center braced for plenty of snow.
The county says it shifted into higher gear to get crews and trucks out to treat county roads.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone had a message for residents about driving.
"Those conditions are going to be extraordinarily difficulty for our plow operators, no question about it. We certainly don't want anyone who does not need to be on the roads."
Bellone recommended people get home as soon as they could to hunker down into Thursday.
