A substitute teacher in the Valley Stream Union Free School District is out of a job after images of sex toys were allegedly shown to her students on the classroom's smart board Tuesday.
According to students at Valley Stream South High School, the graphics were on screen for the whole class.
Some students recorded the lesson on their phones and posted the video online.
The teacher appears to be viewing the kinky section of an online marketplace while a recorded lesson about the inventor of the traffic light plays in the background.
It's not clear if the teacher realized what was on the screen.
The principal sent a message to parents, saying in part, "Unfortunately, there was an inappropriate use of technology by a substitute teacher in a senior classroom...I am dismayed by the action taken by this substitute teacher, but can assure you that I and the district have taken this matter very seriously and action has been taken."
Parents tell News 12 that the teacher should not have been looking at inappropriate products at work.
News 12 attempted to contact the substitute teacher and find out why the photos were shown to the class, but she hung up the phone.
The principal says the students in that class were given the opportunity to speak with their guidance counselors about the incident.
The teacher has been removed from Valley Stream's substitute roster, and a district spokesperson says she will not teach there again under any circumstances.
