Students and parents rallied Thursday to keep a Morris Park Catholic school off the chopping block.
Our Lady of Solace is one of the four Bronx Catholic schools and three churches the Archdiocese may close as part of a realignment plan. Students and parents met with school leaders to discuss ways to keep the school open. School officials will have a chance to submit a plan to the Archdiocese on how to improve the school.
Cardinal Egan has promised that students from closing schools will be placed in different schools. The other schools that may face closing are Saint Anthony?s, Saint Mary Star of the Sea and Saint Martin of Tours. The pastor from Saint Martin of Tours met with the Archdiocese Thursday and says the meeting went well.
