Strong storms leave thousands of Long Island homes in the dark

At its highest point, more than 6,000 customers on Long Island were in the dark.

Tuesday’s fast-moving storms knocked out power to thousands of Long Islanders, and many are still without electricity.
At its highest point, more than 6,000 customers on Long Island were in the dark.
As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, less than 1,000 were without power.
PSEG Long Island says it launched additional crews to get power back on, and says those crews will be working until all customers have their power restored.
