Roosevelt Union Free School District appoints new, but familiar superintendent
Dr. Deborah Wortham previously served as Roosevelt’s superintendent of schools from 2013 to 2015.

The Roosevelt Union Free School District Board of Education announced that Dr. Deborah Wortham has been appointed the new superintendent of their district.
Dr. Wortham was, most recently, the superintendent for the East Ramapo School District in Ramapo, New York. She previously served as Roosevelt's superintendent of schools from 2013 to 2015. She took over the troubled East Ramapo School District in Nov. 2015.
A statement released by the district said, "Dr. Wortham and the Board of Education's joint vision of the future is going to help provide Roosevelt students with the resources they need to excel both in the classroom and beyond."
