A fleet of World War II planes paid tribute Tuesday to essential workers and to all affected by COVID-19 with giant messages of hope in the sky.
The Geico Skytypers took off from Republic Airport in Farmingdale, flying a fleet of six World War II airplanes over hospitals across Long Island, New York City and Westchester.
The planes created messages of encouragement to front-line fighters as reminders to keep their chins up and eyes to the sky.
The Geico Skytypers say they can put up 25 letters in less than two minutes, each letter as tall as the Empire State Building.
