The former girlfriend of Long Island Ducks manager Wally Backman has filed a lawsuit against him and the Ducks.
Amanda Byrnes, of Riverhead, alleges Wally Backman physically assaulted her at her home after a night of drinking.
The Long Island Ducks are named in the lawsuit because Byrnes and her attorney say the team allows Backman to drink at the games and after until the point of intoxication.
"All the times I have been to the games, he has been fully intoxicated, and they supply him with the alcohol," says Byrnes.
Backman's legal team fired back, providing reporters with a list of Byrnes' previous arrests, including for allegedly falsely reporting an incident.
Byrnes' attorney called it a smear and a "standard attack"
A spokesperson for the Long Island Ducks wouldn't comment on the lawsuit.
The general manager of the team issued a statement last month that said Backman denies the charges and will remain the manager of the Ducks.
