FORECAST
An arctic front carries an Alberta Clipper through New Jersey tonight delivering on and off light snow showers that accumulate up to 1 inch in most spots. A few locations north and west can see close to 2 inches since the snow will be fluffy. The air is dry, so most of the snow is very light. This moves through quickly after 6PM tonight and ends in the morning tomorrow.
Saturday's winds pick up abruptly as the snow ends. Gusts will be near 40-60 mph at the coast and 30-50 mph inland. These powerful gusts drive down temperatures through the day where morning temperatures will be near 17 degrees, but it continues to fall into the afternoon.
Wind chills will be abrasively cold by the midday and evening with them being as low as -15 degrees across most of NJ. Northwestern areas can have feel like temperatures as low as -20 degrees. This is a dangerous cold and it is best to stay inside and warm. The last time Newark experienced -15 degrees feel like temperatures was on January 31, 2019.
Temperatures and conditions improve/rebound by the midweek next week.
