We gain an hour of sleep tonight when Daylight Saving Time comes to its annual controversial end, making this the longest weekend of the year. Love it or hate it, this is a great weekend to have the extra time, because it's dry and seasonable. Saturday will be breezy with gusts occasionally reaching 30 mph, but it is not as windy as yesterday. The wind will be much lighter on Sunday. Temperatures today and tomorrow will reach the upper 50s, which is average for this time of the year.
The next chance for rain will be Monday with mostly cloudy skies and stray showers after 2 p.m. Rain will be light so at worst this will just be a minor nuisance. Monday through Wednesday look quite mild with high temperatures near 60.
A cold front could give another round of showers Wednesday night, but it will cool us down for the end of the week. High temperatures will drop into the mid 50s for the end of the work week.
Extended look:
Next weekend could be mild again with temperatures likely approaching the 60s. Neighborhoods that have not seen a frost yet will likely go without one until the middle of the second week of November. There is also a low risk for rain until the middle of the month.
Here's a day by day look at the weekend and start to next week:
Today
Sunny and breezy early today, then windy and party cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s. Winds from the NW at 15-25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
Tonight
Partly cloudy and cold. Lows around 40.
Sunday
Less wind and more sun! High temperatures in the upper 50s.
Monday
Some sun to start, then mostly cloudy with light rain showers in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s or near 60.
Tuesday
A nice mix of sun and clouds. Mild! Highs in the low 60s.
Wednesday
Sun to start, then a few clouds. Mild! Highs in the low 60s. Showers are expected in the evening.
