News 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Sam Augeri says Friday will be cloudy before a few showers later in the day.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

-After record breaking rain at Islip Airport Thursday, our weather is drying out with only a few light hit and miss showers leftover through Saturday. It will be mostly cloudy and mild before colder weather arrives for the New Year.

OVERNIGHT: Cloudy with areas of fog and the chance for drizzle or a few light showers. Lows near 44 degrees. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Sunrise: 7:16

FRIDAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy with the chance for a few showers late in the day into Friday night. Mild with highs near 52. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 4:33
