STORM WATCH: Unsettled weather to deliver rain, mist and fog this week in New Jersey

News 12 Storm Team Meteorologist Scott Sincoff says we will see rain showers over the next few days and potential flooding going into Wednesday afternoon before the skies clear up for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
DENSE FOG ADVISORY for eastern Bergen, Hudson, eastern Union, and eastern Essex counties until 11 AM because of reduced visibility causing hazardous travel. Make sure to go slow, use your headlights, and plan ahead for a longer morning commute.
NOW: Fog has stuck around all day long and has given us a gray Tuesday with clouds, mist, and drizzle. More moisture moves in as we go into the next 24 hours with chances of rain increasing.
NEW: Areas of flooding are possible into Wednesday afternoon and evening with more than inch of rain possible. Hazardous travel is in the cards for the PM rush along with hazardous travel. Fog and rain could cause plenty of headaches north of I-195 and along the Turnpike and Parkway corridors. The normal spots could see flooding along the bays and cause ponding in the urban areas with poor drainage.
NEXT: Sprinkles and showers will linger into Thursday and Friday as mild temperatures slide downward into the 40s with nicer weather on the horizon for New Year's Eve and Day to ring in 2024.
