News 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Sam Augeri says there could be thunderstorms and heavy rain overnight before lighter showers for Thursday.
TONIGHT: Heavy rain is expected with a rumble of thunder possible. Winds light from the ENE. Overnight lows in the mid to upper 40s. 
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with on and off mild rain. Highs in the low to mid 50s. Cooler overnight with lows dropping to the upper 30s. 
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy and colder with a stray shower during the day, then rain becomes more widespread in the evening. Highs in the upper 40. 
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with a few showers possible in the morning. Cooler with highs in the low to mid 40s.
NEW YEARS EVE: Dry and cooler with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the low 40s. Temperatures in the low to mid 30s for the midnight countdown.
NEW YEARS DAY: Seasonably chilly with a mix of clouds and sun. Highs in the low 40s.
