Stony Brook University and the New York Blood Center on Wednesday celebrated saving over 100,000 lives.
The university reached the milestone earlier this month when it reached 33,334 donations. Each donation has the ability to save up to three lives.
"Stony Brook University is known for their academics, but I have to tell you when it comes to the blood drive campaign, they give it just the same effort," says Yadira Navarro, of the New York Blood Center. "It's just the same excellence and we are really proud to be a partner with them."
Stony Brook has been hosting consistent blood drives with the organization for over two decades.
