A state trooper conducting a traffic stop was injured in a crash late Saturday night on the Meadowbrook State Parkway.
State police say it happened on the southbound lanes of the parkway near Exit M5 around 11:40 p.m.
They say the trooper was inside a patrol car with his emergency lights on after pulling over a driver suspected of driving drunk. That’s when the 17-year-old driver rear-ended the vehicle.
The trooper was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The teen was ticketed under the state "move over" law. State police say the trooper is expected to recover.
