2h agoA small plane crashed on Fishers Island, about 11 miles from Orient Point, Friday evening, state police say.
The small, single-engine plane was on its way to Montauk when police say the pilot reported engine trouble when they left Martha's Vinyard.
The pilot then tried to make an emergency landing and crashed just short of the runway at Fisher's Island Airport.
Three people were onboard, but no one was injured.
