A disease that has killed thousands of trees is now here on Long Island.
The fungus called oak wilt causes the sudden loss of leaves, and it is infecting oak trees in Central Islip.
A meeting will be held tonight at the Central Islip Public Library. 
The state Department of Environmental Conservation will talk about its findings and how to wipe out the disease.
