State Comptroller Thomas Dinapoli has given PSEG Long Island final approval for a contract extension that will allow the utility to manage LIPA’s power grid for another five years.
PSEG Long Island has operated the electric grid on behalf of LIPA since 2014.
The agreement was granted by the state attorney general in October.
Officials say the extension begins Jan. 1 and runs through Dec. 31 of 2030.
