Stars of film and television are preparing for one of the biggest nights in Hollywood, the Golden Globes. News 12's Elisa DiStefano caught up with some big names on the red carpet of the National Board of Review event this week to find out their predictions and if they are ready for the award season.
"Birdman" is going into tonight's show with the most nominations, including Best Motion Picture Comedy, a Best Supporting nod for Ed Norton and Best Actor for Michael Keaton. All eyes seem to be on Keaton, who is predicted to win the award.
Up for awards in the drama category are "Boyhood," "Foxcatcher," "The Imitation Game," "Selma" and "The Theory of Everything."
This year, Long Island will be featured at the awards show. Montauk native Julianne Moore is nominated twice, Best Actress in a Comedy and Drama, for her role with fellow East Ender Alec Baldwin in "Still Alice." And some films and shows were filmed on Long Island, including "St. Vincent," starring Bill Murray, the Showtime series "The Affair" and the Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black." Northport's Edie Falco is also up for Best Actress for her role in "Nurse Jackie."
The 72nd Annual Golden Globes will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler tonight, Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
