The annual St. Patrick's Day Parade was held in New York City today.
The LIRR had extra trains running, 10 eastbound and six westbound, today to help get Long Islanders in and out of the city for the parade.
The parade kicked off at 11 a.m. on 44th Street and traveled up Fifth Avenue to 77th Street.
The St. Anthony's High School pipe band was among the Long Islanders marching.
Mayor Bill de Blasio boycotted the parade. For the first time, a gay group marched this year, but de Blasio says the parade is too discriminatory.
