Grass, tree pollen seasons offer double allergy hit

An allergist tells News 12 that this season is a double hit for allergy sufferers.
Dr. Dean Mitchell says it’s because the grass and tree pollen seasons are happening at the same time.
“When we've had weather like we've had so far this year that's been wetter, cooler and we haven't really had a nice early spring in a little while, that's when these two seasons overlap,” says Mitchell.
Dr. Mitchell says keeping windows closed can help symptoms. He also recommends taking an antihistamine at night so the medicine is already in effect in the morning.
