A couple in South Orange, Essex County owns a business called the Grapevine Mobile Bar. Sade and Sebastian Pierre brought their trailer to the front parking lot here at News 12. Our weekend morning producer Aidan Turrock asked Sebastian about the taps inside. Is that a tap? Like you, it sure is, yeah, we have 3 taps in here. And so if our clients, for example, well, it serves two purposes. If our clients have kegs of beer that they want to serve at their event, they'll give us the keg, we can tap it. Or if we want to pre-batch cocktails like we're doing today, for example, our lemonade. You just have like 3 gallon kegs here and we just tap it, especially if you want, you know, if we want fast service, right? we can just pour it, ice, shake if we need, and then just serve and it's uh it works that way just a fast on the go serving. Do you find the drinks are better out of the tap than like just like better pour or is it better texture that way that way? Depends on the drink. Some drinks we absolutely have to shake up like um. I would say uh martini, you need it shaken in the moment, but things like rum punch, you don't have to shake that it's already once we pre-batch it, all the ingredients melt together. It's very refreshing light. Um, yeah, it's great. We're enjoying that, um, a lot of people are gearing towards mocktails more than cocktails as well, uh, noticing that people really want to have a good time, enjoy a refreshing drink, still socialize in that way without the regrets the next day. the hangover, yeah, my sister, she's, she's, uh, 22, she just graduates, just graduated college a month ago. She only drinks mocktails, her and her friends, yeah, it, it, it's. Yeah, it's, it's nice too. It's a nice way to go out and have like fun without, you know, you're right, waking up the next morning with a a hangover. It speaks to the versatility of our business too, right? Yeah, we don't wanna be known only as a bar that only serves kind of cocktails and everything. We want, we do mocktails, we do. Right in the winter months we do hot chocolate bar, um, we did a beautiful PTA event where we served the teachers our amazing educators, uh, lattes, cappuccinos. The bar is so versatile, so really goes to whatever the client is looking for and we can provide it. Who is this little guy standing right here to greet us? This is the notorious BIG. Just paying homage to our Brooklyn roots here. um Yeah, we like to kind of, uh, you know, where we're from, um. And uh you know just the just the pursuit of greatness, you know, um, and it's a really good kind of talking element that we bring to I mean again speaks to just the vibe that we're trying to set we usually are playing music, you know, very hip hop, R&B, just something that really reflects. Excuse me, where's my EDM? Well, we can do the medium jazz, you know, pop music. Again, we want, when you walk up here, we want you to feel like you're at a bar, right? And that vibe, but not at a bar because it's so, it's so intimate at the same time, right? And just good conversation, good vibes all around.

This week we enjoyed a special treat in the parking lot here at News 12. The owners of the Grapevine Mobile Bar showed off their trailer and mocktails out front. Staffers weren't the only ones intrigued, so were our business neighbors here in R Raritan Center like Danielle Williams. The berry one sounds good yeah it does. Thank you for coming over. look at this. No thank you for um actually having me. I felt so rude coming over and I've seen you guys recording. I'm like, oh this is a new special I apologize. You know, we always want to get to know our neighbors. Things have changed a lot around here, so. Right, right. Nice to meet you too. See, now you can spread the word for them, right? That's what we were in we're like, what's going on over here? Oh, you guys are married? Oh, congratulations. How long? 10 years. Oh my God, you guys don't even look old enough to be married 10 years. 26 or 9. You two kids? Yes. It must be this stuff. It's gotta be this stuff. Yes. Why do you all love doing this so much? What were you doing before? I was just about to say that. So Sebastian and I met. um, I was working in a retail store and he came in and asked to put something on hold, and I said, in order to put it on hold, he needed to give me his phone number. That's slick isn't it? Why? And I was like, I never heard of that before. I'm like, what? That looks good. right Oh my God, this is so good. And what is this called? This is the berry sunrise. This is delicious. I like this and I don't drink alcohol, so that's perfect I love it. Thank you. Yeah. But something like that would go with tequila, um, not that you're interested. Right about that earlier what I know how do we pair some of these, but that would probably be like a strawberry mango, you know, uh margarita or something like that. Now this is phenomenal. I like this. I really do, right? Um, and then we love doing this because my background is in luxury retail. Um, I love speaking to people, I love engaging with people, um, and I love really nice things. So I really love to be able to give really nice things to the clients that we meet. I feel like, uh, this. Business shows so much of who Sebastian and I both are, um, what we love, we hope that we pour ourselves into it and then that our clients in turn feel that I work in HR.de does all of the client telling, you know, she's pretty much the face of the business at this point, and she just lets me know where I need to go.

This weekend we're putting the spotlight on a small but growing business in Essex County. Sade and Sebastian Pierre of South Orange launched the Grapevine Mobile bar. They invited me inside their trailer to chat. So here we are. That ice looks like I could just jump in there and stay cool. On a day like today for sure. All the drinks that you have fixed for me are delicious. I'm so glad. Do you make mojitos too? 00 yeah. You specialize. Yeah, yeah. She's more of the margarita person and the mojito dude and the old fashioned dude, but I'm on my mojitos. We love a dragon fruit margarita. So if y'all make one of those, I'm coming. You should try the orange margarita. Really? Yes, oh man, we've got to come back with cocktails for you with our indoor, outdoor bar. You know what, it'll be so much dancing and fun. Everyone will be overjoyed to come outside and get a cocktail from the bar, right? And, and not to mention at night this thing lights up. I mean we already We have the neon logo, but we got the lights in here. It's really a party. Yeah, yeah. And I think that's also the unique part of our business, like, we party with you, you know, we're just not the, we're not just the bartenders, you know, behind the bar serving. We're in the mix, you know, we're having fun, well, from, from here, of course, but we're in the mix, we're having fun, it's a great conversation and people come back for sure. What kind of reaction when you do you get at these private parties that you hold? Everyone that comes up is like, oh my God, this is so cute. We've never seen anything like this before. That's always the reaction like wow, like and and the reaction, it's great for us but it's our clients who get all the praise because they booked us and it's like, oh wow, you have access to something like this um like oh my gosh, I went to Della's birthday party and they had this huge truck, yeah, it's really, really. is always if we could film every reaction we could probably make a really nice reel um just by reactions alone. How do you encourage somebody to step out on faith after they've done their research and homework and go ahead, launch your idea because we know it's hard starting a small business. Yeah, I think you have to, you know, it, it, it really is that, you know, you can't, you can't succeed unless you try, you know, and, and see kind of what works, um, and that might mean. You know, failing a number of times, not everything is always in alignment, but if you have a vision, um, and the support, you know, you can actually get it done. I keep going and you said you mentioned faith earlier. That's where our logo and our and our name actually kind of comes from is based on our faith, but the. The logo itself, the grapes, they just represent prosperity and blessings, um, and so we think that that's paramount to just our story and, um, and what we also want to exude, you know, to others who encounter us who come up to the bar, um, and, uh, and, and speak those positive vibes.
