A great summer day trip for the adults is a day at the East End wineries.
Each vineyard on the North and South forks alike offers a different experience. The Old Field Vineyards in Southold features antique buildings and chickens roaming the property. Visitors can sample wine in a rustic tasting room.
Other vineyards that feature animals on their properties are Martha Clara in Riverhead and Baiting Hollow Farm in Baiting Hollow.
At the Jamesport Vineyards, visitors can relax and enjoy oysters and beer in the backyard. Dogs are also welcome there, as long as they are on a leash.
On the South Fork, Wolffer Estate offers live music on Thursdays. It also has a wine stand on Montauk Highway on Fridays and Saturdays during the summer months.
Whether you want to hit up a few at a time, or just spend the day enjoying the wine and landscape at one, the East End vineyards definitely have something for everyone.
