A kitten in Dix Hills was rescued from a sewer drain in Dix Hills.
The 4- to 5-week-old kitten was trapped in a sewer drain in front of a home for more than 24 hours.
The Suffolk SPCA says residents called several agencies for help, but a rescue was deemed too dangerous.
On Tuesday, people with the Save-A-Dog Animal Protection Services went down the drain and pulled the animal to safety.
The kitten wasn't seriously injured, but it's being evaluated at an animal shelter.
