SPCA: Dead dog discovered in Central Islip roadway

The body of a dead dog was discovered in the road in Central Islip Sunday. The Suffolk SPCA says the dog's body was found partially covered near the intersection of Ferndale Boulevard and Coconut Street.

The body of a dead dog was discovered in the road in Central Islip Sunday.
The Suffolk SPCA says the dog's body was found partially covered near the intersection of Ferndale Boulevard and Coconut Street.
The dog was taken to a veterinarian where it was determined the dog had a broken neck. The vet does not believe it was hit by a car, but hasn't ruled out blunt force trauma.
