The Town of Southampton has decided not to conduct an outside investigation into the town police department after accusations of keeping unsecured evidence.

There are also reports of an officer being allowed to work in the drug unit while battling his own addiction problems.

Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst has been pushing for an outside review of the department but the town board voted it down.
