Police: Pedestrian fatally struck by 2 vehicles that fled scene in Shirley

According to police, a man was crossing the roadway northbound when he was struck by an SUV heading westbound on Montauk Highway. The victim was then run over by a westbound sedan, which fled northbound on William Floyd Parkway.

Police say a pedestrian was fatally struck by two vehicles that fled the scene in Shirley Tuesday night.
According to police, a man was crossing the roadway northbound when he was struck by an SUV heading westbound on Montauk Highway that fled the scene.
The victim was then run over by a westbound sedan, which fled northbound on William Floyd Parkway, at approximately 11:40 p.m.
The victim, whos has been identified by police as David Arnold, 48, was transported via Suffolk County police medevac helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
