An NYPD officer from Oceanside who was hurt in a hatchet attack is reportedly back at home tonight.
Sources tell News 12 Long Island that Officer Kenneth Healey was released Friday from a rehab facility at North Shore-LIJ.
As News 12 previously reported, the 25-year-old suffered a skull fracture after being attacked by a man with a hatchet last month in Queens.
The attacker, Zale Thompson, was shot and killed at the scene.
Another Long Islander, Officer Joseph Meeker of Oakdale, suffered a wrist injury during the attack. He has already been released from the hospital.
