The stormy weather in the Midwest is already causing problems for some Long Island holiday travelers.
The snowstorm in Colorado shut down the major airport in Denver. Some Long Islanders, who had flights to Denver Thursday, headed to MacArthur Airport only to be sent home. When they arrived back at the airport Friday, they were also told they couldn?t get a flight directly to Denver. One woman says she now has a connecting flight in three cities, with an overnight stay in Kansas.
Many travelers are taking the delays in stride. Most of the other flights at MacArthur were on time. Travelers should check their flight status before heading to the airport. They should also arrive early to avoid long check-in and security lines.
