Smithtown students raised over $80,000 for the American Cancer Society through a Relay For Live event.

Teams of students were joined by cancer survivors and family members at the high school.

They walked around the track for 12 continuous hours, ending at 5 a.m.

Organizers say the walk signifies that cancer never sleeps.
