A Smithtown man who was beaten by the former Suffolk police chief could be getting $1.5 million.
Burke is now serving nearly four years in prison for beating Loeb and trying to cover the attack up.
The investigation into Burke also led to the federal indictments against former Suffolk District Attorney Tom Spota and one of his top aides.
The county legislature still needs to approve the settlement.
