(05/19/06) BAY SHORE ? The actions of disorganized home invaders ultimately led to their arrest in Bay Shore Thursday night.
According to investigators, the three masked men entered an apartment on Orinoco Drive in Brightwaters and threatened two people inside. Police say the burglars left the residence with cash, credit cards, about two ounces of marijuana and a shotgun that was found inside the apartment. However, police were already waiting for the trio upon their exit thanks to a 911 call made by one of the victims.
Police say one of the robbers fled in one direction, while the two others ran towards their getaway car. The three eventually met back up and led police on a vehicle chase through the neighborhood, but not before one of them dropped a loaded gun on the ground. The pursuit ended when the suspects blew a tire and careened into bushes on Bailey Avenue.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jason Montello, 33-year-old Daniel Garced and 28-year-old Angel Hernandez were taken into custody. The three men are all from Bay Shore.
