If you're looking for a great place to head this summer, but want to stay local, head out to the East End. This week, News 12 focuses on all the fun things to do out there for its 12 Weeks of Summer series.

First up, a sleepover with sharks at the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead! The overnight adventure is a chance to explore the tropical tanks and exhibits after hours. One tank even has a simulated sunrise and sunset. Director of Education Robert Carasasiti says it's a great chance to see what fish do at night.

While you could always get into the shark tank, new this summer is the shark keeper program. After a quick lesson about sharks, you can prepare their food and feed one of them!

If staying overnight with Jaws isn't your thing, don't worry, the aquarium has a bunch of new and exciting exhibits to check out during the day. From Turtle Bay to the sea lion show, there's just about something for everyone to see and enjoy!
