Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman says crews are wrestling with water and sewage backup where the hole opened on Wednesday.
Residents say it is making their commute times longer.
“It's kind of frustrating because they shut down the Loop Parkway,” said one resident.
Blakeman says he hopes the repairs will be done by the middle to the end of next week.
