The weekend started off with some sunshine and warm temps, but showers and storms are sweeping across Long Island this evening.
News 12 meteorologists say some storms may be strong to severe with possible gusty winds, hail, heavy rain and lightning.
The storms will taper off later tonight, giving way to partly cloudy skies and lowering humidity by Sunday morning. Overnight lows will be in the mid-70s.
For Sunday, morning clouds will clear up with lots of sunshine later. Highs will be around 80 degrees.
And for Monday it will be sunny and warm with highs in the mid-80s.
