A Selden man was driving drunk when he crashed into a Farmingville home overnight, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office.
The office says deputy sheriffs saw a Lincoln SUV failing to maintain the lane while driving 75 mph in a 35-mph zone on Ocean Avenue just after 1:30 a.m.
The deputy sheriffs say 32-year-old Patrick Coleman's speech was slurred and had a strong odor of alcohol. When Coleman was asked to step out of the vehicle for a sobriety test, the office says he fled the scene.
Authorities say Coleman soon lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the home on Oakcrest Avenue.
Neither the driver nor occupants in the home were injured, but the house sustained extensive damage.
Coleman is facing a slew of driving violations and felony DWI with one prior offense.
