Another shark sighting, this time at Lido Beach, has closed swimming at Town of Hempstead ocean beaches from Civic Beach to Town Park Lido West Beach.

The sighting was reported by the town's "Shark Patrol" crew just before 4 p.m.

There have now been at least 10 shark sightings this week on Long Island, after Nassau officials reported nine in total Thursday.

Nassau officials say at least one shark that was caught in county waters earlier this week has been confirmed to be a bull shark, which could be dangerous to swimmers.

The town has deployed boats and Jet Skis to look for more sharks over the past few days. Nassau County police also have their own boats and helicopters that have searched as well.

So far, all of the reported sightings have been in southwestern Nassau County, including Point Lookout, Lido Beach, Long Beach and East Atlantic Beach.
