State parole officials arrested a level-1 sex offender Thursday caught living in a home in Islip Terrace that is also the site of a day care center.
The Suffolk County Sheriff?s Department says 28-year-old Rasheem Dupree was out on parole and living in the home Safe Haven Christian Day Care Center was being run out of.
News 12 Long Island teamed up with the sheriff?s department and Parents for Megan?s Law to stake out the house. The sheriff?s department found Dupree in violation of his parole for driving a car and living in a residence with children.
State parole officials were notified and arrested Dupree. The parents who send their children to Safe Haven were also notified.
Parents for Megan?s Law representative Laura Ahearn feels the woman who runs the day care center, Adrienne Dupree, was conning the parents of the children she cared for by letting Rasheed Dupree live there.
The New York State Division of Parole offered no comment as to how such violations were allowed to occur.
