Services set for East Fishkill police officer killed in an accident

Wake and funeral services have been announced for the East Fishkill police officer killed in an accident on Monday.

47-year-old Daniel DiDato was driving in his patrol car on the Taconic State Parkway when his vehicle ran off the highway and struck a tree.

He was on his way to Westchester Medical Center to interview a victim from an earlier accident.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at John Jay High School in East Fishkill.

A mass will take place Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columbia Church in Hopewell Junction.

DiDato, the first East Fishkill police officer killed in the line of duty, is survived by his parents and two brothers.
