Police responded to Lynbrook High School Monday because of a “serious physical altercation between two students.”

Principal Matthew Sarosy shared a message with parents after the incident.

It said that “police were called and were on scene within moments. The building entered into a Hold in Place for approximately one hour and twenty minutes while medical attention was being provided to the students involved in the altercation.”

Sarosy addressed rumors about the incident directly saying, “There was no stabbing.”

“Police have confirmed this was an isolated dispute between specific individuals, and there is no threat to the wider school community,” the letter said.

Any student who wants to talk about the incident can do so with a support staff member, Sarosy says.
