A serial robber with a taste for fast food may have held up his 16th store at gunpoint, according to police.

The KFC on Montauk Highway in Shirley was held up just before 10 p.m. Tuesday. There was also an armed robbery last night at the Best Express at 336 Ronkonkoma Ave. in Lake Ronkonkoma.

Police say a robber has hit six Subway stores, five gas stations, a 7-Eleven in Medford, Carvel in Center Moriches and Royal Market in Shirley.

Many of the holdups are in Medford and Ronkonkoma, according to police. The spree began on Dec. 9. Authorities say the robberies have taken place between 7 p.m. and 12 a.m.

Police are not certain if the KFC or Best Express robbery were connected to each other or previous robberies.

Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
