Sept. 11 Memorial unveiled at Eisenhower Park

Nassau County unveiled a memorial Sunday for its 344 residents lost in the Sept. 11 attacks to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington D.C.
Victims? names were read aloud at the memorial service, and family members were given an opportunity to share a personal moment near the wall listing the names of the victims.
Family members at the service said they were thankful to have a local memorial outside of New York City.
?I'm so glad I don't have to go to ground zero - it's a terrible place,? said Frank Sherry of Rockville Centre. Sherry?s son John lost his life in the terrorist attacks. ?This is so nice, so different so special.?
