Police say Joseph Gil targeted the Suffolk police chopper late Sunday night on Dare Road while it was looking for a driver who ran from a car crash.
Gil, 33, was arrested at 196 Dare Road and charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment.
An arraignment date was not immediately detailed by police.
