A second man has been charged in the 2016
shooting death of a teenager near Hofstra University.
Edar Ventura, 20, was arraigned on second-degree murder charges Tuesday in Nassau County Criminal Court in Hempstead.
News 12 reported that Ventura and another man intentionally got into an argument with a group of people that included 16-year-old Alexon Moya.
During the altercation, prosecutors say Ventura pulled out a 9mm semi-automatic pistol and shot Moya three times in the head near the intersection of Fenimore Avenue and Braxston Street.
Moya died a few days later in the hospital.
Jeustin David Maldonado, 17, of Uniondale, was also arrested and is also facing charges in the shooting death, including attempted murder.
Ventura was held without bond and is due back in court on Thursday.
