Two women were leaving the Sunrise Mall in Massapequa Friday when police say an armed man demanded their purses.
According to police, the mother and her 26-year-old daughter were leaving Macy?s when the man forced them to hand over their handbags. They were unharmed.
Jaswinder Singh, supervisor at the Hess gas station across from the mall, said that he has notified his employees to be on high alert.
This is the second attack to occur at a mall in Nassau County this week. On Tuesday afternoon, a 20-year-old college student was attacked in the Roosevelt Field Mall parking lot. Police say she bit the attacker?s arm to free herself from the situation and was unharmed.
