School district tax levy cap at 2% for third year in a row

The same applies to all of New York state.

For the third year in a row, Long Island school property taxes are capped at 2%.
The same applies to all of New York state.
State Comptroller Thomas Dinapoli just made the announcement.
Since 2012, the tax cap law limited annual tax levy increases to 2% or the rate of inflation - whichever is lower.
Dinapoli’s office calculated the inflation factor at 4.12% for those with a June 30, 2025 fiscal year end.
