Scattered showers, storms could cause flash flooding; heat continues
The steamy temperatures continue today with some pop-up storms expected throughout the day.
A heat advisory remains in effect for Nassau County until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Expect sunny, warm and humid conditions with highs just below 90 degrees in some areas. The heat index could push into the low-90s on the North Shore.

There is also a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. Overnight lows will be around the mid-70s.
Thursday will see a slight ease in the hot temperatures, with highs in the low-80s. There is also a decent chance for scattered storms.
On Friday, highs will remain in the low-80s, with a chance for some heavy rain in the morning. Expect cloudy skies throughout the day.
The weekend is due to be a pleasant one, with partly sunny skies and highs around 80 on both days.
