"Santa Your Way" held its grand opening Friday in Wyandanch.
The pop-up helps residents celebrate a diverse holiday season, giving visitors a chance to meet Santa "James" Claus and the Grinch.
This is the fifth year that the pop-up is being held.
"I believe that children of color and different races should be able to have the opportunity to see a Santa that looks like them," says Santa Your Way owner Philana Aiken. "If you look into the history of Santa, he changes race as he goes to different homes, so I believe it is important to give them that example and show them representation."
