Santa, elves and police visit children in NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola

Santa and his helpers made a special visit to children in NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola Tuesday afternoon.
The big guy was joined by a merry band of elves for the sixth annual Nassau County Police Medic Association Santa Run.
Along the way, they gave gifts to the children and spent time in the pediatric unit.
Police Medic Coordinator Chris Pieloch says the event is a joy for the children and the volunteers.
Terell Saint Louis, 14, says he didn’t just get gifts from Santa this holiday season. He also got news that his hospital stay has come to an end.
All the gifts for the children were bought by the participants with their own money.
The Santa Run also stopped at Nassau University Medical Center and South Nassau Communities Hospital.
