Sandy victims receiving tax refund checks
Many victims of Superstorm Sandy are receiving a big tax refund check this Christmas.
Nassau is mailing out tax refunds to more than 6,000 residents whose homes were damaged by Sandy.
Yesterday, Nassau County started sending out checks averaging $3,100 to people whose tax assessments didn't reflect all the damage to their property.
Nassau says 2,000 other homeowners' claims are still under review.
